Concerning elimination of the waiting period for children's eligibility under the children's basic health plan. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of Colorado: SECTION 1. In Colorado Revised Statutes, 25.5-8-109, amend (1) as follows: 25.5-8-109. Eligibility - children - pregnant women. (1) To be eligible for a subsidy, a child must not have currently nor in the three months prior to application for the plan have been be insured by a comparable health plan through an employer. with the employer contributing at least fifty percent of the premium cost. Children who have lost insurance coverage due to a change in or loss of employment shall not be subject to the waiting period. SECTION 2. Safety clause.
