      Concerning the P.O.S.T. certification status of a director of the
           Colorado bureau of investigation.
      
      
      Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of Colorado:
      
           SECTION 1.  In Colorado Revised Statutes, amend 16-2.5-113 as
      follows:
      
           16-2.5-113.  Colorado bureau of investigation director -
      agent.  The A director of the Colorado bureau of investigation is a peace
      officer whose authority shall include the enforcement of all laws of the state
      of Colorado and who shall may be certified by the P.O.S.T. board. A
      Colorado bureau of investigation agent is a peace officer whose authority
      shall include the enforcement of all laws of the state of Colorado pursuant
      to section 24-33.5-409, C.R.S., and who may be certified by the P.O.S.T.
      board.
      
           SECTION 2.  Safety clause. The general assembly hereby finds,
      determines, and declares that this act is necessary for the immediate
      preservation of the public peace, health, and safety.
