Concerning a transfer of moneys from the state general fund to the Colorado state veterans trust fund for the purpose of repaying moneys from the trust fund that were used to build National Guard armories. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of Colorado: SECTION 1. In Colorado Revised Statutes, 28-5-709, add (3.5) (c) as follows: 28-5-709. Colorado state veterans trust fund - created - report. (3.5) (c) Notwithstanding any provision of this section to the contrary, on July 1, 2013, the state treasurer shall deduct three million eight hundred sixty thousand four hundred twenty-nine dollars from the general fund and transfer such sum to the Colorado state veterans trust fund. Such amount shall be retained as principal in the trust fund, and any interest earned on the principal shall be subject to annual appropriation by the general assembly and may be allocated by the board for the purposes outlined in subsection (1) of this section. SECTION 2. Safety clause. The general assembly hereby finds, determines, and declares that this act is necessary for the immediate preservation of the public peace, health, and safety. ____________________________ ____________________________ John P.
