The bill requires hospitals licensed in Colorado to provide notice in a manner specified by the department of public health and environment of all services that the hospital refuses to provide because of religious beliefs or moral convictions. The bill requires the notice to inform patients of their right to obtain any service not provided by the hospital because of religious beliefs or moral convictions from another hospital that does provide the service. Requires the notice to be made available prior to or at admission of the patient or as soon after admission as practicable. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of Colorado: SECTION 1. In Colorado Revised Statutes, add 25-3-104.5 as follows: 25-3-104.5. Mandatory disclosure of services not provided because of religious beliefs or moral convictions. A hospital licensed pursuant to this article shall provide notice, in a manner specified by the department of public health and environment, of all services that the hospital refuses to provide because of religious beliefs or moral convictions. The notice must inform patients of their right to obtain any service not provided by the hospital because of religious beliefs or moral convictions from another hospital that does provide the service. The hospital shall provide the notice required by this section prior to or at admission of the patient or as soon after admission as is practicable. SECTION 2. Safety clause. The general assembly hereby finds, determines, and declares that this act is necessary for the immediate preservation of the public peace, health, and safety.
