CONCERNING RECOGNITION OF MILITARY PERSONNEL FROM COLORADO WHO DIED DURING SPECIFIC MILITARY CONFLICTS, INCLUDING THOSE KILLED AFTER SEPTEMBER 11, 2001, DURING THE WAR ON TERRORISM, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO THOSE KILLED IN AFGHANISTAN AND IRAQ. WHEREAS, The Fallen Heroes Memorial Commission was established by statute in 2007 through the passage of Senate Bill 07-086 to erect memorials to commemorate the lives of Coloradans who died during specific military conflicts; and WHEREAS, Designs have been completed, and materials for construction have been located in Colorado; and WHEREAS, A fund has been established to collect gifts, grants, and donations for the construction and preservation of the memorial; and WHEREAS, A 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization has been established to administer the funds, construction, and preservation of the memorials; now, therefore, Be It Resolved by the House of Representatives of the Sixty-eighth General Assembly of the State of Colorado, the Senate concurring herein: That we, the members of the Sixty-eighth General Assembly of the state of Colorado: (1) Reaffirm our commitment to the construction and preservation of a memorial honoring the fallen heroes who have given their lives in service to their country during World War I, World War II, the Korean War, the Vietnam War, the Persian Gulf conflicts, and the War on Terrorism, including in Iraq and Afghanistan; and (2) Encourage continued donations for the memorial through coloradofallenheroesmemorial.org or the Fallen Heroes Memorial Fund care of Rebecca Rippeto Kim, P.O.
