CONCERNING RECOGNITION OF MILITARY PERSONNEL FROM COLORADO WHO ARE SERVING IN OPERATION IRAQI FREEDOM, OPERATION NEW DAWN, AND OPERATION ENDURING FREEDOM AND HONORING THOSE WHO HAVE DIED WHILE SERVING THEIR COUNTRY IN IRAQ AND AFGHANISTAN. WHEREAS, Thousands of military personnel from Colorado have served and continue to serve in Iraq in Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation New Dawn and in Afghanistan in Operation Enduring Freedom, including troops based at Fort Carson, the United States Air Force Academy, Peterson Air Force Base, and Buckley Air Force Base; members of the Colorado National Guard, Army Reserve, and Marine Corps Reserve; and troops from Colorado who are deployed with military units based in other states; and WHEREAS, Since January of 2010, the following soldiers based at Fort Carson, Colorado, made the ultimate sacrifice while serving their country in Operation Enduring Freedom: Private First Class Tramaine Jamal Billingsley, 20, of Portsmouth, Virginia, a member of the United States Army assigned to the 7th Squadron, 10th Cavalry Regiment, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division; Staff Sergeant Michael David Cardenaz, 29, of Riverside, California, a member of the United States Army assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 12th Infantry Regiment, 4th Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division; Specialist Chad Derek Clements, 26, of Huntington, Indiana, a member of the United States Army assigned to the 4th Brigade Support Battalion, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division; Sergeant Sean Michael Durkin, 24, of Aurora, Colorado, a member of the United States Army assigned to the 1st Battalion, 12th Infantry Regiment, 4th Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division; Sergeant Jeremiah Thomas Wittman, 26, of Darby, Montana, a member of the United States Army assigned to the 1st Battalion, 12th Infantry Regiment, 4th Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division; and WHEREAS, Private First Class Charlie Cabay Antonio, 28, of Kahului, Hawaii, a member of the United States Army assigned to the 1st Battalion, 8th Infantry Regiment, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division, based at Fort Carson, Colorado, made the ultimate sacrifice while serving his country in Iraq as part of Operation Iraqi Freedom; and WHEREAS, Specialist Dylan Thomas Reid, 24, of Springfield, Missouri, a member of the United States Army assigned to the 1st Battalion, 8th Infantry Regiment, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division, based at Fort Carson, Colorado, made the ultimate sacrifice while serving his country in Iraq as part of Operation New Dawn; and WHEREAS, Since January of 2010, the following United States Armed Forces members who called Colorado home, but who were stationed elsewhere around the nation and the world, made the ultimate sacrifice while serving their country: Sergeant Justin Eric Culbreth, 26, of Colorado Springs, Colorado, a member of the United States Army assigned to the 1st Battalion, 187th Infantry Division, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, based at Fort Campbell, Kentucky, while serving as part of Operation Enduring Freedom; Corporal Max William Donahue, 23, of Highlands Ranch, Colorado, a member of the United States Marines assigned to the 3rd Battalion, 1st Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division, Marine Expeditionary Force, based at Camp Pendleton, California, while serving as part of Operation Enduring Freedom; Corporal Larry Donell Harris, Jr., 24, of Thornton, Colorado, a member of the United States Marines assigned to the 3rd Battalion, 1st Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division, Marine Expeditionary Force, based at Camp Pendleton, California, while serving as part of Operation Enduring Freedom; Specialist Faith Renee Hinkley, 23, of Colorado Springs, Colorado, a member of the United States Army assigned to the 502nd Military Intelligence Battalion, 201st Battlefield Surveillance Brigade, based at Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Washington, while serving as part of Operation Iraqi Freedom; Petty Officer 2nd Class Justin Jacob McNeley, 30, of Wheat Ridge, Colorado, a member of the United States Navy assigned to Assault Craft Unit One, based in San Diego, California, while serving as part of Operation Enduring Freedom; Lance Corporal Brandon William Pearson, 21, of Arvada, Colorado, a member of the United States Marines assigned to the 3rd Battalion, 5th Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division, Marine Expeditionary Force, based at Camp Pendleton, California, while serving as part of Operation Enduring Freedom; and Sergeant Jason Thomas Smith, 28, of Colorado Springs, Colorado, a member of the United States Marines assigned to the Explosive Ordnance Disposal Branch, Headquarters and Headquarters Squadron, based at the Marine Corps Air Station Iwakuni, at Iwakuni, Japan, while serving as part of Operation Enduring Freedom; now, therefore, Be It Resolved by the House of Representatives of the Sixty-eighth General Assembly of the State of Colorado, the Senate concurring herein: That we, the members of the Sixty-eighth General Assembly of the state of Colorado: (1) Remember and honor these Coloradans who have given their lives in service to their country in Operation Iraqi Freedom, Operation New Dawn, and Operation Enduring Freedom;
