      Summers, Todd, Balmer, Beezley, Gerou, Kerr A., Levy, Liston, Peniston,
      Solano, Williams A., Acree, Hullinghorst, Pabon;
      also SENATOR(S) Boyd.
      
      
      Concerning the designation of the presiding officer of the
           university of Colorado hospital authority's board of
           directors.
       
      
      Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of Colorado:
      
           SECTION 1.  23-21-513 (1) (n), Colorado Revised Statutes, is
      amended to read:
      
           23-21-513.  General powers of the authority.  (1)  In addition to
      any other powers granted to the authority in this part 5, the authority shall
      have the following powers:
      
           (n)  To appoint one or more persons as secretary and treasurer of the
      board and such other officers as the board of directors may determine and
      provide for their duties and terms of office; except that the chancellor of the
      university of Colorado health sciences center shall be president of the
      university of Colorado shall designate the director who shall be the
      presiding officer of the board of directors;
      
           SECTION 2.  Safety clause.  The general assembly hereby finds,
      determines, and declares that this act is necessary for the immediate
      preservation of the public peace, health, and safety.
