SENATE BILL 11-028 BY SENATOR(S) Schwartz, King S., Williams S.; also REPRESENTATIVE(S) Coram, Barker, Gardner B., Kagan, Kerr J., Summers, Wilson. Concerning the number of judges in certain judicial districts. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of Colorado: SECTION 1. 13-5-102 (2), Colorado Revised Statutes, is amended to read: 13-5-102. First district. (2) (a) The number of judges for the first judicial district shall be eleven. (b) Subject to available appropriations, effective July 1, 2004, the number of judges for the first judicial district shall be twelve. (c) Subject to available appropriations, effective July 1, 2008, the number of judges for the first judicial district shall be thirteen. (d) Subject to available appropriations, effective July 1, 2009, the number of judges for the first judicial district shall be fifteen. (e) Notwithstanding the provisions of paragraph (a) of this subsection (2), subject to available appropriations, effective July 1, 2011, the number of judges for the first judicial district shall be fourteen. SECTION 2. 13-5-108 (2), Colorado Revised Statutes, is amended to read: 13-5-108. Seventh district. (2) (a) The number of judges for the seventh judicial district shall be three. (b) Subject to available appropriations, effective July 1, 2003, the number of judges for the seventh judicial district shall be four. (c) Notwithstanding the provisions of paragraph (a) of this subsection (2), subject to available appropriations, effective July 1, 2011, the number of judges for the seventh judicial district shall be five. SECTION 3. Safety clause.
