MEMORIALIZING FORMER REPRESENTATIVE DALE ERICKSON. WHEREAS, Our respected former colleague, Dale Erling Erickson, a past member of the Colorado House of Representatives, departed this life on January 5, 2011, at the age of 83; and WHEREAS, Representative Erickson was born in 1927, in Duluth, Minnesota; and WHEREAS, After graduating from high school, Representative Erickson joined the United States Marines; and WHEREAS, Upon moving to Colorado, Representative Erickson became a businessman and took his first job working as a car salesman; and WHEREAS, Representative Erickson and his wife, Anita, owned the Arapahoe Valley Angus Ranch near Fort Lupton, and he owned the Littleton Glass Company until he retired in 2009; and WHEREAS, Representative Erickson served for only one term in the Colorado House of Representatives, from 1985 to 1986, and acquired the nickname of "Dr. No"; and WHEREAS, As a member of the Colorado House of Representatives, Representative Erickson served on the Local Government and State Affairs committees; and WHEREAS, Representative Erickson was a lifetime member of the John Birch Society and was known to favor a strict interpretation of the Constitution; and WHEREAS, It is fitting that we, the members of the House of Representatives of the Sixty-eighth General Assembly, pay tribute to the dedicated service of Representative Dale Erickson and express our deep regret and sorrow occasioned by his death; now, therefore, Be It Resolved by the House of Representatives of the Sixty-eighth General Assembly of the State of Colorado: That, in the death of Dale Erickson, the people of the state of Colorado have lost a dedicated public servant and that we, the members of the House of Representatives of the Sixty-eighth General Assembly, do hereby extend our deep and heartfelt sympathy to the members of his family and pay tribute to a man who served his state well and faithfully.
