The bill removes daylight saving time, leaving "United States Mountain Standard Time" as the year-round standard time in the state. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of Colorado: SECTION 1. 2-4-109 (1) and (2), Colorado Revised Statutes, are amended to read: 2-4-109. Standard time. (1) The standard time within the state except as provided in subsection (2) of this section, is that which is now known and designated by act of congress as "United States Mountain Standard Time". (2) From two o'clock antemeridian on the second Sunday of March, until two o'clock antemeridian on the first Sunday of November, or such other times and days as may, from time to time, be designated by act of congress, the standard time in this state so established shall be one hour in advance of the standard time now known as "United States Mountain Standard Time". SECTION 2. Act subject to petition - effective date. This act shall take effect December 1, 2011; except that, if a referendum petition is filed pursuant to section 1 (3) of article V of the state constitution against this act or an item, section, or part of this act within the ninety-day period after final adjournment of the general assembly, then the act, item, section, or part shall not take effect unless approved by the people at the general election to be held in November 2012 and shall take effect on the date of the official declaration of the vote thereon by the governor.
