MEMORIALIZING FORMER REPRESENTATIVE FLOYD SACK. WHEREAS, Our respected former colleague, Floyd Sack, a past member of the Colorado House of Representatives, departed this life on August 17, 2010, at the age of 79; and WHEREAS, Representative Sack was born February 22, 1931, in Logan County, Colorado; and WHEREAS, Representative Sack graduated from Longmont High School in 1948, Midwest Christian College in 1952, and Texas Christian University in 1954; and WHEREAS, In 1949, Representative Sack was ordained as minister by the Longmont Church of Christ; and WHEREAS, Representative Sack ministered at the Littleton Christian Church, Green Mountain Christian Church, and the Salt Lake Christian Church, and also served as an elder and Sunday school teacher at the Westside Christian Church and the Bear Valley Christian Church; and WHEREAS, As a commercial real estate developer, Representative Sack founded his own company, Empire Development, in 1971; and WHEREAS, Representative Sack proudly served four consecutive terms in the Colorado House of Representatives as a Republican from 1967 to 1974, and also served as House Assistant Majority Leader in 1973 and 1974; and WHEREAS, As a member of the House of Representatives, Representative Sack served on several committees, including the committees on Business Affairs; Education; Health, Welfare, and Institutions; Judiciary; Labor and Employment; Transportation and Highways; and as vice-chair of the House Services committee; and WHEREAS, During his time in the House of Representatives, Representative Sack also served on several interim committees, including the committees on Energy; Government Civil Immunity; Health, Environment, Welfare, and Institutions; and as chair of the Welfare committee; and WHEREAS, Representative Sack was an active and dedicated member of his community throughout his life and oversaw many government, retail, and nonprofit projects in multiple states; and WHEREAS, It is fitting that we, the members of the House of Representatives of the Sixty-eighth General Assembly, pay tribute to the dedicated service of Representative Floyd Sack and express our deep regret and sorrow occasioned by his death; now, therefore, Be It Resolved by the House of Representatives of the Sixty-eighth General Assembly of the State of Colorado: That, in the death of Floyd Sack, the people of the state of Colorado have lost a dedicated public servant and outstanding citizen, and that we, the members of the House of Representatives of the Sixty-eighth General Assembly, do hereby extend our deep and heartfelt sympathy to the members of his family and pay tribute to a man who served his state well and faithfully.
