If Legislative Aides are authorized by the Executive Committee, acting in accordance with such Joint Rule 39, to start prior to the convening of the next regular session, they may be paid at the rate specified in this resolution from the date they are authorized to start. (2) That the Chief Clerk of the House of Representatives and the Secretary of the Senate remain in such capacity after adjournment of the General Assembly sine die until the convening of the First Regular Session of the Sixty-eighth General Assembly in January, 2011. (3) That the Chairman of the House Services Committee, with the authorization of the Speaker, and the Chairman of the Senate Services Committee, with the authorization of the President, are hereby separately authorized to retain and hire replacements for such employees for such period of time in the interim between the Second Regular Session of the Sixty-seventh General Assembly and the First Regular Session of the Sixty-eighth General Assembly as they deem necessary for their respective houses; except that the office equipment of the General Assembly and the services of such employees shall be used only in connection with official legislative business. (4) That the Chairman of the House Services Committee, with the authorization of the Speaker, and the Chairman of the Senate Services Committee, with the authorization of the President, are hereby separately authorized to hire such session only employees for the next regular session as they deem necessary for their respective houses and who may start their employment on the date authorized. (5) That the officers and the employees referred to in subsections (2) through (4) of this resolution shall be compensated for their services at the rate specified for such positions during the Second Regular Session of this Sixty-seventh General Assembly, as may be modified by any salary survey adjustments and merit increases to become effective during the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2010, which are approved by the Speaker of the House of Representatives for officers and employees of the House of Representatives and the President of the Senate for officers and employees of the Senate. All such compensation shall be paid from moneys appropriated for such purposes by the Sixty-seventh General Assembly. _________________________________________________________ Terrance D.
