Concerning agreements for the purchase of medical goods. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of Colorado: SECTION 1. Part 1 of article 1 of title 25.5, Colorado Revised Statutes, is amended BY THE ADDITION OF A NEW SECTION to read: 25.5-1-126. Discounted prices for durable medical equipment and supplies. (1) The state department shall work with one or more nonprofit organizations to develop a link of approved vendors who are willing to sell durable medical equipment and medical supplies at discounted prices to persons who have applied for, but are not yet receiving, benefits under the "Colorado Medical Assistance Act". The state department shall provide the exclusive criteria for a nonprofit organization to use to approve a vendor for placement on the approved vendor list. (2) The state department shall maintain a link of approved vendors developed pursuant to this section and shall: (a) Make the link available on the state department's web site; and (b) Provide copies of the list to county departments and to sites authorized to accept medical assistance applications pursuant to section 25.5-4-205 (1), through the survey given to applicants. SECTION 2. Safety clause. The general assembly hereby finds, determines, and declares that this act is necessary for the immediate preservation of the public peace, health, and safety. ________________________________________________________ Terrance D.
