SENATE BILL 07-014 BY SENATOR(S) Taylor, Tochtrop, Boyd, Kopp, May R., McElhany, Spence, and Wiens; also REPRESENTATIVE(S) Balmer, Hodge, Jahn, Kerr J., Rice, Rose, Summers, Todd, and White. Concerning the appropriation of funds to the central fund for state nursing homes. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of Colorado: SECTION 1. 26-12-108 (1), Colorado Revised Statutes, is amended BY THE ADDITION OF A NEW PARAGRAPH to read: 26-12-108. Payments for care - funds - annual report - collections for charges - central fund for state nursing homes created. (1) (a.5) For the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2007, and for each fiscal year thereafter, the general assembly shall appropriate from the general fund to the central fund an amount not exceeding ten percent of the total gross revenue accrued by the central fund during the preceding fiscal year in coordination with the state department's standard budget request process. The state department shall use these funds to pay operational expenses of, and make capital improvements to, the state nursing homes. SECTION 2. Effective date. This act shall take effect July 1, 2007. SECTION 3. Safety clause.
