Our Office serves as the government watchdog for the citizens of Colorado, conducting independent financial and performance audits of the State’s agencies, colleges, and universities. As stewards of public funds, we strive to promote accountability and improve the operation of all levels of government. Our audits focus on reducing costs, increasing efficiency, improving the quality of services, and ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial information. | In addition to conducting financial and performance audits at the state level, our Local Government Audit Division reviews audits of local entities conducted by CPA firms and provides technical assistance on a wide variety of accounting, auditing, and government issues. The Division maintains a database of Colorado’s 3,700 local governments. |
