Representative Hefley, the prime sponsor of SB 05-030, Concerning the "Family-friendly Courts Act," summarized the bill's provisions and explained why family-friendly court services were implemented three years ago as a pilot program. Representative Hefley answered questions from the committee about the bill and the pilot program.

Mr. Joe Dischinger, representing the Colorado Bar Association, spoke in favor of the bill. He explained that some courts have not implemented family-friendly court services during the last three years because the program was a pilot and the services required an investment of scare resources.
