The meeting was called to order by the chairman, Senator Windels. Members present were: Senators Anderson, Bacon, and Tupa; and Representatives Benefield, King, Merrifield, Penry, and Pommer. Senator Windels thanked the Colorado Association of School Boards (CASB) for providing lunch for the committee today, and thanked the Colorado Education Association (CEA) for providing lunch at the joint meeting of the committee and task force on July 21. She walked through the day's agenda and asked for comments from the committee. She noted that the task force had held its first meeting, and that Scott Murphy, as task force chair, may be contacted for information about the work of the task force.
