Representative Weissmann, prime sponsor, introduced House Resolution 05-1012 which changes the House of Representative rules related to the powers and duties of the speaker, admittance to the House floor, and the designation of committee members. He responded to committee questions. Committee members asked various hypothetical questions of Rep. Weissmann.

Representative Schultheis indicated that he was comfortable with page 2 of the bill, but, he had reservations with other areas of the bill. He asked if Rep. Weissmann might be able to eliminate a portion of the bill. Rep. Weissmann suggested that the bill be laid over and revised before taking a final vote. Representative Coleman indicated that she didn't see the purpose of page 1, lines 8 through 17. She believes rules shouldn't be drafted upon possible situations of specific circumstances. Rep. Weissmann responded. Committee discussion continued.
