10:32 AM -- JBC FY 2012-13 Budget Briefing

The committee was called to order. Representative Gerou provided an overview of the FY 2012-13 state budget, with specific attention paid to the departments over which the committee has oversight. Representative Gerou first provided overall budget highlights, and then discussed the FY 2012-13 budgets for the departments of Military and Veterans Affairs and State. Discussion ensued regarding the potential reimbursement of the State Veterans Trust Fund for moneys drawn from the fund to construct National Guard armories. Discussion followed regarding moneys to be appropriated to the Department of State for the ballot initiative and referendum process and certain local elections expenses.
