Senator Tapia introduced his bill prohibiting certain insurance businesses from referrals that require the use of particular contractors or businesses and obtaining referral fees for such referrals. He provided an amendment to the committee (Attachment A). He responded to questions from the committee regarding any requirements for multiple estimates of services. Senator Tapia indicated that companies may provide a list of possible businesses from which consumers may choose.
