Senator Tapia introduced his bill concerning regulation of landscape architects. He provided an amendment to the committee (Attachment A).

11:43 AM -- Brian Tobias, Department of Regulatory Agencies, spoke in opposition to the bill. He discussed the process by which the Department conducted a sunrise review of the group seeking regulations.

11:47 AM -- Angie Kinnaird Linn, Division of Registrations, spoke in opposition to the bill.

11:53 AM -- Jeff Shoemaker, Greenway Foundation, spoke in support of the bill. He provided a packet of materials to the committee (Attachment B). He explained his experience in hiring landscape architects for the projects of the foundation.

11:56 AM -- Craig Coronato, Colorado Council of Landscape Architects, spoke in support of the bill. He noted that Colorado is one of only three states in which landscape architects are not required to be licensed. He described the role of landscape architects in landscaping projects and other public spaces.

12:00 PM -- Dean Murphy, American Civil Constructors, spoke in support of the legislation. He described the work of his company with landscape contractors.

12:03 PM -- Alex Schatz, Colorado Council of Landscape Architects, responded to testimony from the Department of Regulatory Agencies.
