Potential Interim Committee Travel		Committee Discussion

The committee was called to order. A quorum was present.

09:07 AM

Ms. Jennifer Moe, Legislative Council Staff, briefed the committee on dates available for committee travel during the interim and potential visitation sites. Committee members received a list of available travel dates and potential sites (Attachment A); and draft itineraries for trips within the Denver metropolitan area (Attachment B), the southwestern region of the state (Attachment C), and the southeastern region of the state (Attachment D). Discussion ensued regarding a potential visit to the Cumbres and Toltec Railroad on the southwest tour, and potential dates and sites for the Denver metropolitan area tour. The committee next discussed dates for the south central and southeastern tour, and the potential for including a visit to the Colorado State Fair in the tour.

The committee then discussed potential dates for the tour of facilities in southwestern Colorado. Discussion returned to visiting the Cumbres and Toltec Railroad, and associated logistics.

Discussion ensued regarding the potential for committee business that may need to be acted upon at a meeting to be held during the first Denver metropolitan area tour. Mr. Larry Friedberg, State Architect, suggested that the committee visit the hospitals at Fitzsimons and Fort Logan during the metropolitan tour. The committee then agreed on a tour date for a second Denver metropolitan area tour.
