Julie Pelegrin, Office of Legislative Legal Services, came to the table to respond to questions about amendment L.001 and the potential impact of the amendment. A memorandum from the Legislative Council Staff fiscal staff was distributed (Attachment C). Representative Coleman responded to questions about the participation rate at Lincoln High School and Sheridan High School.

Mr. Mendelsberg returned to the table and testified that approximately 85 students were enrolled in a fifth year program, and 47 students were enrolled in fifth year programs at Sheridan High School. Representative Coleman responded to additional questions about the language in amendment L.001. In response to committee discussion, Representative Paccione commented on eligibility for the College Opportunity Fund program. Representative King raised concerns regarding the total level of funding for each student for which the state may be obligated.
