Senator Boyd, prime sponsor, explained the provisions of House Bill 06-1406, concerning the regulation of electronic devices that are designed to cause traffic lights to change. The bill amends law related to interfering with official traffic control devices. Senator Boyd answered questions from committee members concerning the surcharge.

11:36 AM -- House Bill 06-1404

Senator Bacon, prime sponsor, explained the provisions of House Bill 1404, concerning the creation of a support education special license plate. The bill creates the "Support Education" special license plate. The plate would be available to applicants who pay an additional one-time fee of $25 and who obtain a certificate confirming a $20 donation issued by Impact on Education Inc. or a successor organization. Senator Bacon answered questions from committee members.

Ms. Ankot answered questions from committee members and stated that the $25 fee is a Department of Revenue (DOR) fee and that the $20 fee is a donation fee.
