Senator Fitz-Gerald, sponsor, presented House Bill 06-1330 concerning information filed with the Division of Insurance by specified types of insurers. The bill requires most property and casualty insurers offering policies in the state to submit certain information related to their Colorado line of business going back to 2002. In addition, insurers must specify the states from which experiences were drawn in setting Colorado premium rates.

Jerry McDermott, Colorado Trial Lawyer's Association, spoke in favor of the bill. Mr. McDermott stated his belief that this is a modest, but important step toward improving the liability arena. He answered committee questions about the long-term effects of the bill.
