Senator Sandoval, prime sponsor, reviewed the provisions of House Bill 06-1051 concerning elections to recall officials. She clarified that the bill amends administrative guidelines, currently in statute, to allow more time for the review of a recall election.

Bill Compton, representing the Secretary of State's Office, testified in support of the bill. He testified that the internal administrative deadlines need to be modified in order to provide adequate time to hold these elections. This bill will only go into effect if Senate Concurrent Resolution 05-005 passes.
