Representative Todd, chair, welcomed everyone to the conference committee on House Bill 06-1075, concerning the sale of surplus state property. Representative Todd explained the changes made to the bill as it moved through the legislative process. The committee discussed the impact of the bill on the processing of surplus property by and the revenue generation of the departments of Corrections and Higher Education. The committee then discussed adopting the reengrossed version of the bill.

Ms. Julie Pelegrin, Office of Legislative Legal Services, explained how revenue from the sale of surplus state property would be distributed under the reengrossed version of House Bill 06-1075 (Attachment A). Discussion followed regarding interagency discussions over the split of revenue from the sale of surplus property.

Ms. Patti Micciche, representing the Department of Corrections, and Mr. Jason Hopfer, representing community colleges, testified regarding House Bill 06-1075. Committee members clarified for Ms. Micciche and Mr. Hopfer the waiver process for unique property items of interest under the reengrossed version of the bill. Discussion ensued regarding input by individual higher education institutions in the surplus state property process under the bill.
