Senator Kester reviewed the provisions of Senate Bill 06-003, concerning the use of biofuels in state buildings. He indicated that the bill is an interim bill from the Interim Committee on Rural Economic Development Issues. Senator Kester responded to questions regarding terms in the bill.

Marjorie Griek, representing the Colorado Association for Recycling, testified in support of the bill. She said that biofuels can act as an economic development tool. She said that certain waste and debris has the potential for becoming an important product, rather than being burned in landfills. Ms. Griek responded to questions about the analysis required under the bill.
