Senator Tochtrop called the committee to order and explained the proposed amendments to the re-revised version of the bill. The amendments replaces the suspension provisions of the original bill that were removed in the House. The committee discussed the discretion of the court to suspend fines in the case of careless driving. The discussion also concentrated on the right to a hearing in the case of a license suspension. The committee questioned the drafter about probationary licenses.
