Representative Larson, prime sponsor, reviewed the provisions Senate Bill 06-118, concerning amendments to the "Exceptional Children's Educational Act" to conform with the federal "Individuals with Disabilities Education Improvement Act of 2004."

She reviewed a document provided to the committee that compares the current Exceptional Children's Educational Act and changes to conform with the Individuals with Disabilities Education Improvement Act (Attachment E). She walked the committee through each section of the bill.

02:18 PM -- Lauren Kingsbery, representing the Colorado Association of School Boards, testified in favor of the bill. She discussed the change that could be made through a potential amendment and briefly reviewed current law for an out-of-home placement of a student.
