Herrick Lidstone, Centennial, commented on his confirmation to the Securities Board. He spoke of the role of the Board. He commented on the need for investigators for the Board. He noted that there are approximately 200,000 broker-dealers registered in Colorado.

01:44 PM -- John Herzog, Colorado Springs, commented on his background and prior service as a legislator. He commented on the Colorado securities industry. He spoke of the goals of the Board and their duty to protect the public. Senator Takis asked about the authority of the Board to access confidential information.

Senator Veiga, prime sponsor, commented on SB 06-195 which would modify the Colorado Employment Security Act. She said that the bill would update Colorado statutes bringing them into compliance with federal law, and thus avoid potential costs to the State of Colorado and to Colorado employers.
