Representative Garcia reviewed the provisions of Senate Bill 06-055, concerning reports of assaults in schools. He discussed the changes that the bill would make to the School Accountability Reports (SARs). In conjunction with his presentation of the bill, Representative Garcia provided the committee with four documents (Attachments P through S).

The following persons testified:
05:06 PM -- The Reverend Calvin Hall, representing himself, testified in favor of Senate Bill 06-055. He described the violence that has touched his family and that has become a part of school campuses. He discussed his concern about the lack of reporting of certain episodes of violence to the Colorado Department of Education. He said that more accurate reporting would assist parents in making decisions about schools.
