Representative Stafford introduced bill 4 and discussed amendments to the bill. Amendment L.001 (Attachment G) allows an advance practice nurse to sign a verification of disability for purposes of a disability placard, L.002 (Attachment H) allows an advance practice nurse to sign a certificate of death, and L.003 (Attachment I) specifies that whenever a new law or rule is adopted that requires a signature or other verification of a physician, the signature or other verification of an advance practice nurse is deemed to meet the requirement. Senator Johnson discussed amendment L.003. Representative Stafford stated that the language of amendment L.003 was based on language adopted in Virginia.
