Representative Borodkin presented the resolution which creates a six-member ad hoc committee of the General Assembly to consider economic development in the state and a 15-member advisory committee to provide assistance. Representative Borodkin testified that this committee would be the first economic development committee that includes legislators. Representative Borodkin responded to questions from the committee.

Brian Vogt, representing the Colorado Office of Economic Development and International Trade, testified in support of the bill. Mr. Vogt testified that the proposed committee would improve communication between stakeholders with an interest in economic development.

Bill Becker, representing the Colorado Economic Leadership Coalition, testified in support of the bill. Mr. Becker testified that he supports any efforts to engage legislators in economic development.

Calvin Hardwick, representing himself, testified in support of the bill. Mr. Hardwick serves on economic development committees in Jefferson County and Lakewood. Mr. Hardwick testified that it is important to allow citizens and constituents to participate in a committee such as the one proposed.
