Representative Mitchell provided a brief introduction on the sunset review process. The committee's role is to review the sunset report on bail bonding agent regulation, make amendments to the draft bill, and then vote whether to refer the bill for introduction, he said.

Mr. Jason Hopfer, Legislative Liaison, Department of Regulatory Agencies (DORA), provided an overview of the recommendations regarding bail bonding agent regulation. He referred to the sunset report, which was handed out to committee members last week (Attachment B); a description of sunset statutory criteria (Attachment C); an executive summary of the bail bonding agent regulation sunset review (Attachment D); and a list of professions subject to sunset review (Attachment E). He proceeded to discuss the draft bill (Attachment F) section by section. Mr. Hopfer also responded to questions from committee members.
