Representative Navarro, prime sponsor, presented House Bill 15-1136. Under current law, a military veteran who meets the statutory requirements for physical impairment may be issued one set of persons with disabilities (PWD) disabled veteran license plates that allow the driver to utilize PWD reserved parking. This bill allows for the issuance of two sets of PWD disabled veteran license plates per qualified disabled military veteran.

11:03 AM -- Chuck Broerman, El Paso County Clerk and Recorder, testified in support of the bill. Mr. Broerman responded to questions from the committee about the costs associated with the bill.

11:07 AM -- Chris Hinds, representing the Colorado Advisory Council on Persons With Disabilities, testified in support of the bill. Mr. Hinds expressed his opinion that the bill makes necessary changes to current law.

11:09 AM -- Frank McCurdy, representing the United Veterans Committee, testified in support of the bill. Mr. McCurdy described the criteria for PWD disabled veteran license plate qualification.
