Representative Danielson introduced House Bill 15-1133 to the committee. The bill continues the Colorado Pay Equity Commission, which was created to address issues relating to pay equity in the work place. The Commission was originally created in 2010 and is currently scheduled to repeal on July 1, 2015.

Ms. Bennett responded to questions from committee members regarding what 9to5 does, how the data regarding pay equity was gathered (US Dept. of Labor), statistics for Colorado specifically, laws regarding equal pay, goals of the Commission to provide recommendations, funding for the Commission and how the Commission was staffed, and how the pay equity gap data was gathered and what questions were asked.

02:24 PM -- Alison Zinn, Colorado Women's Bar Association, testified in support of the bill. Ms. Zinn spoke of her experience and responded to questions from the committee.
