Senators Hodge and Sonnenberg, co-prime sponsors, presented House Bill 15-1219, which allows a taxpayer who places a renewable energy project in an enterprise zone and receives certification to claim an Enterprise Zone Investment Tax Credit (ITC) for the project an option to receive a refund on the credit. The amount of the refund is equal to 80 cents for every $1 of ITC credit and is capped at $750,000 per tax year.
