The subcommittee made two recommendations: 1) the Allen True murals be cleaned and necessary conservation measures taken; and 2) a plan for the continued maintenance of the Capitol art collection be established.

Ms. Contiguglia discussed the cleaning and conservation of the Allen True murals and asked that the committee allow staff to solicit bids from potential conservators. She said that this will not cost money until a bid is approved by the committee. Ms. Bishop discussed potential conservators for the murals.

She spoke about recent work on the exterior art, and said that the subcommittee recommends that the exterior art be cleaned and maintained on a five-year cycle. She also thanked Mr. Lee and the Department of Personnel and Administration (DPA) for their continued maintenance of the exterior artwork. Ms. Contiguglia asked the committee to add a maintenance plan to the Criteria and Procedures For the Gift or Loan of Objects of Art and Memorials Placed on a Permanent or Temporary Basis in the Colorado State Capitol, or on its Surrounding Grounds (Criteria and Procedures).
