Representative Gerou, sponsor, introduced Senate Bill 14-112, which subjects the cash grants awarded under the state's Building Excellent Schools Today (BEST) Program to an annual appropriation. Representative Gerou continued to respond to questions from the committee and explained that the Joint Budget Committee recommends that the General Assembly have fiduciary oversight over the BEST board's appropriations. Representative Gerou and Mr. Harper discussed the sources of revenue for the BEST program and expected marijuana revenue.
