01:49 PM -- SB 14-117
Representative Fischer presented Senate Bill 14-117, concerning the regulation of real estate appraisers. The bill corrects an oversight from Senate Bill 13-155 and extends the repeal date of the Board of Real Estate Appraisers (board) in the Department of Regulatory Agencies (DORA) through September 1, 2022. The current repeal date was July 1, 2013. The bill also reenacts the provisions from SB 13-155, allowing the board to continue to implement DORA's recommendations from the 2012 real estate appraisers sunset report.
Representative Fischer responded to a clarifying question from the committee on how this bill related to SB 13-155.
The following individuals testified on the bill:
01:52 PM -- Marcia Waters, representing DORA's Division of Real Estate, testified in support of the bill. Ms. Waters explained the purpose of the bill and responded to questions from the committee.
01:56 PM -- Rachel Nance, representing the Colorado Association of Realtors, testified in support of the bill. Ms. Nance stated that the Colorado Mortgage Lenders Association is also in support of the bill.
01:57 PM -- Lee Ormiston, representing the Colorado Coalition of Real Estate Appraisers, testified in support of the bill.
01:59 PM
Representative Fischer made closing remarks on the bill.
