Representatives Exum and Petterson, co-sponsors, presented Senate Bill 14-096. The bill changes the name of the statutory references for "state veterans nursing home" and "state nursing home" to "veterans community living center" or "veterans center."

Ralph Bozella, representing the United Veterans Committee, testified in support of the bill. Mr. Bozella stated that the name change is being requested to better represent all of the activities that take place in the homes. He spoke in detail about such activities.

Viki Manley, representing the Department of Human Services, testified in support of the bill. Ms. Manley indicated that the change will better allow the department to serve veterans.
