Representative Salazar called the meeting to order.

Representative Salazar discussed the background of House Bill 14-1193 concerning the imposition of a fee for the research and retrieval of public records under the "Colorado Open Records Act" (CORA).

Representative Salazar discussed the changes the Senate made to the bill, regarding page 2, Line 17 through 21 of the rerevised bill. He said that he wanted to strike the sentence starting with "Any" to remove any unattended consequences for the public to obtain information.

Senator Kefalas discussed his concerns with the current rerevised bill. He said that it is important to protect the private citizen and prevent higher fees as an unattended consequence.

Representative Gardner discussed a conceptual amendment to remove language from the bill.

The members discussed the amendment. Senator Roberts asked for clarification on the charges that would be in place if the amendment passed. Senator Kefalas discussed the CORA fees.
