Representative Primavera introduced House Bill 14-1276. The bill creates a grant program in the Colorado Department of Education to provide grants to public high schools that provide hands-on training for students in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and the use of an automated external defibrillator (AED). He discussed his experience as an emergency medical technician and the importance of quickly administering CPR in an emergency situation. He responded to questions from the committee regarding the symptoms and appearance of sudden cardiac arrest.
