01:40 PM -- House Bill 14-1125

The committee was called to order. A quorum was present. Representative Mitsch Bush, sponsor, presented House Bill 14-1125, concerning the circumstances under which a unit owners' association may disclose contact information for members and residents under the "Colorado Common Interest Ownership Act." Current law prohibits a Homeowners' Association (HOA) from sharing the personal contact information of members or residents in a common interest community. This bill permits an HOA to publish members' and residents' contact information, provided the person gives the HOA prior written consent.

The following individuals testified on the bill:

01:43 PM -- Molly Foley-Healy and Jeff Kutzer, Community Associations Institute, came to the table together to testify in support of the bill. Ms. Foley-Healy discussed the history of the issue. Mr. Kutzer stated that the bill would help HOA managers build community. Mr. Kutzer responded to a question from the committee about the digital divide regarding communications with seniors.

01:49 PM

Representative Mitsch Bush delivered closing remarks.
