Representative Williams, chair, called the meeting to order. A quorum was present. Representative Pabon presented House Bill 14-1346, concerning the authorization for persons licensed to manufacture, sell, or distribute alcohol beverages to distribute hard cider in this state.
The bill allows a nonresident manufacturer of malt liquor or a malt liquor importer that is licensed by June 1, 2014 to:
• import and sell its own hard cider to a licensed wholesaler;
• maintain stocks of hard cider and operate warehouses in which it has a financial interest by procuring a wholesaler's liquor license; and
• solicit orders from retail licensees and fill orders through licensed wholesalers.
Representative Pabon thanked the stakeholders and members of the committee for their involvement with the bill and requested that the committee postpone consideration of HB 14-1346 until May 8, 2014.
