Representative Tyler, chair, called the meeting to order. A quorum was present. Representative Wilson, prime sponsor, presented Senate Bill 14-030. The reengrossed bill eliminates all fees for one set of Distinguished Flying Cross license plates, if the cross was awarded for valor, and makes an appropriation. Representative Wilson explained the intent of the bill and said that there have been 36 of these license plates issued. Representative Peniston asked for a definition of valor as it pertains to the bill. Representative Wilson discussed the intention of a recognition of valor and said that it is for exceptionally bravery. Representative Coram asked if the license plate will be exempt from the standard special license plate requirements.
