Representative Wilson, sponsor, introduced House Bill 14-1204, which provides flexibility in reporting requirements for successful rural and small school districts. He discussed the need for the bill and introduced Amendment L.001 (Attachment F). He discussed the impact of Title I reporting and the ways in which the bill lessens the requirements for rural and small schools. He discussed the differences between large schools and small schools, charter schools, and school districts. Representative Wilson discussed the similarities between rural schools and charter schools and distributed testimony from Bret Miles (Attachment G), who was unable to attend the meeting.
