Representative Gerou provided background on the use of the Disaster Emergency Fund, and explained the effect of the bill. She also discussed the need for the legislation. Discussion ensued about amendment L.003 (Attachment B), which was offered and withdrawn at the committee's February 4th meeting. Representative Labuda explained the effect of the amendment. Discussion ensued regarding Representative Murray's position on the amendment, and potential issues with the amendment and the bill. Discussion followed regarding potential savings to counties under the amendment, and the potential for voters of certain counties to not receive a ballot under the amendment.
