The chair called the meeting to order. A quorum was present. Representative Williams stated that House Bill 13-1138, laid over from February 14, would be heard for action only. The bill's prime sponsor, Representative Lee, introduced Amendment L.001 (Attachment A). Representative Lee explained the provisions of the amendment, which would require a benefit corporation to prepare annual reports. Representative Lee said the amendment made corporations accountable. Representative Lee responded to questions from the committee on the purpose of the report and whether or not the amendment resolves the issues brought by the opposition. Representative Lee stated that the amendment was drafted by the opposition.
